FAQ
Yes, Alex does take on cover-up work. You can email us an image of your tattoo, and Alex will be able to advise you on your options. Depending on the piece, some tattoos may require a few treatments of laser tattoo removal before the cover-up.”
Yes, Alex has experience working with all types of skin tones. He primarily specializes in black and grey tattoos using black ink, which works well with a variety of skin tones.
When considering how the tattoo will heal, please keep in mind that the ink is deposited in the dermis layer of the skin. As your skin heals, your natural pigment will act as a tint over the ink.”
The deposit for Alex varies. It is a mandatory requirement to reserve your tattoo session date. The deposit is non-refundable (no exceptions) and is credited towards the cost of the tattoo. If the tattoo requires multiple sessions, the deposit will be applied to the final session. Until the deposit is paid, the date remains available to other clients.
We recommend leaving a deposit only when you are 100% ready to get tattooed by Alex.”
For the best results, a few days prior to your appointment make sure to drink plenty of water and apply lotion around the area to be tattooed prior to your appointment. The area should be clean and free of products. Avoid excessive drinking the night before. Make sure to come to your appointment on a full stomach. Bring snacks, drinks and headphones and/or a book to help pass the time. Tattoos take time to do and may run later than expected. We ask that you do not make concrete plans following your tattoo appointment.
Please note that Alex does not allow anyone other than the client to be present during the tattooing process. This policy helps ensure a focused and comfortable environment for both the client and the artist. Thank you for your understanding.”
Please notify the studio of any scheduling conflicts within 72 hours prior to the start of your appointment. Anything less than 72 hours and your deposit is forfeited and another non-refundable deposit is needed to schedule another appointment. We allow up to three reschedules before needing a new deposit. Should you need to cancel your appointment completely, your deposit is forfeited.
Alex does not tattoo pregnant or breastfeeding women due to potential health risks. The main concerns include:
- Infection Risk: Tattooing involves breaking the skin, which can increase the risk of infection. Pregnant and breastfeeding women have weakened immune systems, making them more susceptible to infections.
- Chemical Exposure: Tattoo inks contain various chemicals and pigments that could potentially affect the health of the unborn baby or pass into breast milk.
- Skin Sensitivity: Hormonal changes during pregnancy can affect skin sensitivity and healing, potentially leading to complications or adverse reactions.
For these reasons, Alex prioritizes the health and safety of his clients and prefers to wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding before proceeding with tattooing. If you have any specific concerns or questions, please consult with your healthcare provider.”
The minimum cost of a tattoo with Alex is $200. This price may vary depending on the design and size. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific ideas and receive a quote.”
